Should a health care system decide who you see for care?

We don’t think so.

Four major hospital systems in Nevada control over 70% of the market share

Now more than ever, patients need to make their voices heard and their choices about who they want caring for them known.

We all want healthcare that’s high-quality and personalized to our needs. We want “patient-centered care.” And independent physicians consistently deliver it. That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact supported by patient surveys and research.

As corporate healthcare systems build a larger and larger presence in northern Nevada — and throughout the US — our wishes don’t change. We still want personalized, patient-first healthcare. It just becomes harder to come by.

What’s the difference between independent doctors and corporate doctors?

Independent doctors own or work in a doctor-owned practice where medical decisions are made by physicians, not a corporation.

Corporate system doctors work within a hospital network or healthcare corporation, where business administrators and large systems often influence care decisions.

Why does it matter if your doctor is independent or works for a corporate health system?

Independent physicians deliver healthcare the way we want: personal, ethical, accessible, and rooted in our communities. Research shows that care from independent physicians is also more effective, lower in cost, and more satisfying to the patient.
